Sagaing, Myanmar – October 28, 2025
The IBEC Buddhist University, in partnership with UNICEF, UNHCR, and UNOCHA, has inaugurated a three-day Interfaith Training on Humanitarian Assistance under the theme “Awareness of Humanitarian Assistance.” The training officially commenced today, October 28, 2025, at 9:00 AM, at the Department of Religious Studies, IBEC Buddhist University, located in southern Sagaing.
The program is organized under the guidance of the Rector of IBEC Buddhist University, with the aim of equipping religious leaders and interfaith representatives with a deeper understanding of humanitarian principles, international standards, and practical approaches aligned with both international and national laws.

A total of 30 participants are attending the training, which will run until October 30, 2025, culminating in a certificate presentation ceremony.
In his opening remarks, the Rector of IBEC Buddhist University emphasized the importance of compassion, cooperation, and shared responsibility in addressing human suffering. He noted that humanitarian work must be rooted in loving-kindness, empathy, and ethical conduct, values upheld by all faith traditions.
The founder and rector of IBEC, who also serves as a Peace Ambassador recognized by the United Nations and ASEAN, continues to play a vital role in peacebuilding, humanitarian coordination, and interfaith collaboration across Myanmar and the international community. His leadership reflects the university’s mission to promote peace, reconciliation, and humanitarian cooperation through education and dialogue.

This training is part of IBEC’s ongoing Interfaith Knowledge Sharing Program, implemented in collaboration with the United Nations and global humanitarian agencies to foster greater awareness and capacity for humanitarian action among faith-based communities.
