On June 18, 2006, the IBEC – International Buddhist Education Center monastery was established in Sagaing Hill, Sagaing. Starting from March 28, 2008, it began carrying out educational activities and humanitarian works.
The IBEC monastery was established with the Most Venerable Dr. Sobhita as its Chairman and a board of presiding monks. The purpose of its establishment is to preserve the teachings of the Lord Buddha, promote their flourishing and propagation, and to develop valuable human resources who can be relied upon for the nation’s future, by integrating modern information and contemporary technology.

2006: IBEC is founded on June 18 in Sagaing Hill, Sagaing, with the vision of integrating modern technology with the preservation of the Buddha's teachings. The Pariyatti Buddhist Education program begins.

2020: IBEC Buddhist University and a new IBEC Chapter in Nepal are launched, expanding the transformative reach of its programs.
